Educator/SLP Photo Project:

Our WFH Quarantine Classrooms

Photography project (free photos!) opportunity

Hi all, I am so inspired and encouraged by all the mental energy and long hours you have all been putting into providing good therapy to your classroom/caseload. I would love to showcase the hard work of the speech therapist & teacher communities by photographing your work from home setup - green screens, dining table messes, kid coworkers, anything. I don't know yet what I will do with the images - they will live on my website for awhile as a personal project, or I may try to get the images published or made available for licensing.

My goals with this project are:

  1. Champion and celebrate the good work classroom teachers/therapists are doing

  2. Document this strange time in our collective experience

  3. Show people who are quick to vilify SPED or distance learning how hard we are all working, to humanize our experience to basically ask for some kindness

And here’s me, 100% masked guarantee

And here’s me, 100% masked guarantee

Here's what I'd do for you:

  • Spend 20mins with you in your workspace during off-work hours (after 4pm on a weekday, or a weekend morning) photographing you pretending to work, sitting behind the computer, your 20 tabs open, your kids crawling under your desk, etc. Nothing crazy, just me and my camera and my mask.

  • I have been photographing with Covid protocols in place - masked at all times, no physical contact, social distanced, windows open, short session times

  • As a thank you, I will of course give you all the edited images from the photo session (10-20 images). I would also be happy to make a portrait of you and your quarantine crew on your porch, on your couch, in your bed, wherever!

Here’s what I need:

  • A signed model release for editorial or advertising purposes (some of my images have ended up on gift cards, in brochures, website articles, etc)

  • You to be yourself! You don't have to clean your house, and I won't judge you.

  • Priority will be given to those who live 10mi or less from me (Alhambra) because traffic is becoming a monster again. Feel free to share with any teacher/educator friends who live near me (any district, of course)!

  • Your availability in October which you can select on the form below. I will be scheduling sessions based on location.
